President Operations Manager & Pilot
Dave is owner and the founder of Kouri’s Kopters Inc. Although his dad was a key driving force, Dave has pursued his dream to maintain & grow Kouri’s Kopters into its glory today. He has had over 35 years of experience with variety family businesses. Dave has been flying helicopters for 15 years and is licensed in Canada and the United States. He holds endorsements on Robinson, Bell, Rotorway and Schweizer helicopters. In the little spare time Dave has, he loves to get outside and spend time hunting, fishing and four-wheeling with his daughter Charlotte and wife Ewelina.
Jordan has been extremely dedicated to Kouri’s Kopters since the very beginning. After attending Niagara college for operations management, he obtained his pilot’s license in 2010, joining the Kouri’s Kopters team the following year. Through his dedication, expertise and management abilities he was given the well earned position of Chief Pilot in 2014. Now, Jordan continues to expand his repertoire; from tours over the 1000 islands and custom charters to forestry management – there is no challenge he won’t accept.
Aaron is Kouri’s Kopters very own tamed Australian. After over 20 years of carpentry experience that allowed him to travel to various locations around the world, Aaron decided to move to Canada in 2011 and obtain his pilot’s license. Flying since 2012, he joined the Kouri’s Kopters team that same year and has been continuing to build and grow on his skills and experience ever since. When he’s not busy flying around the 1000 Islands, Aaron enjoys being outside on the water; kayaking, swimming and snorkeling.
Bill is a retired Air Force pilot who got his start in flying by achieving his Private Pilot License at age 17 through the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. A few years later he obtained his Commercial Pilot License before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force. Highlights of his RCAF career include flying Search & Rescue (SAR) helicopter missions, flight training and Tow-pilot for the Air Cadet Gliding Program on the L-19 “Birddog”. Along with his wife Wendy, Bill lives in the Brockville area along the shore of St Lawrence River, and loves boating, water-skiing, and serving his community through his church and the 1000 Islands Rotary Club. Bill is also an Ordained Minister… sometimes available for weddings!
Sales & Marketing
Ewelina is the butter to our bread which also happens to be her favourite food. She focuses on organizing events, marketing the company to its fullest potential and growing Kouri’s Kopters network. Ewelina came from the big city of Toronto, making her more open minded and familiar with the diversity of people who walk through the door. Her experience in accounting and marketing helps Kouri’s Kopters thrive all throughout not only Ontario but internationally. In Ewelina’s spare times she loves gardening, cooking and shopping.
SMS Manager & Company Guide
Scott’s primary responsibility is to drive our Safety Management System (SMS). These systems are becoming standard throughout the aviation industry worldwide as the next step in the evolution of safety in aviation. His other responsibilities include managing our security and passengers’ safety at special events, ground crew supervision and training. Scott has been a hunting and fishing guide for over 20 years and pulls double duty as our expert for all of our heli-fishing and hunting excursions. There are more than 5000 lakes in the Land O’ Lakes Region and Scott knows the names of all of them! With his innate knack to find the right fishing spot every time, our clients love him, but the fish hate him.
Murray is our go to guy when it comes to fixing our messes. Always ready to work, he remains flexible to our wants and needs. With over 50 years of flight experience, Murray knows almost all there is to know about planes and helicopters. He has successfully build a Glastar float plane which he flys to this day. Like a true Canadian, Murray is a hockey fan and always watches the Chicago Black Hawks. In addition, Murray is always up for a hunt with his partners in crime Scott and Dave.
Reception & Marketing
Meg is our social media expert and can typically be found manning the front desk. Graduating from the Sprott School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce, Meg joined the Kouri’s Kopters team right out of school, starting at the end of May 2016. She enthusiastically manages all of our pages on various social media platforms, while also learning all the ropes of the tourism industry from Ewelina. When she isn’t tweeting or posting pictures on Instagram, Meg can be found kicking back in the Thousand Islands with her family.
